Byron Jones

Byron M. Jones is a renowned producer and distributor who has made significant contributions to the film industry. He embarked on his career in 1997 as the Vice President of Entertainment at Cloud 10 Pictures, where he played a crucial role in bringing faith-based and family-oriented movies to the forefront. One of his notable achievements was the successful release of “Left Behind,” which became the #1 selling video in America in its first week, surpassing blockbusters like “Toy Story 2” and “The Green Mile.” During his tenure, he led the sales and marketing departments for best-selling Christian films such as “Apocalypse,” “Revelation,” “Tribulation,” “Judgment,” and “Vanished,” which helped establish international recognition and demand for high-quality Christian movies. Byron held this position until January 2002 when he took a semi-retirement from the industry.

During his hiatus, Byron focused on philanthropic endeavors, using his talents to inspire and empower young individuals to strive for greatness. He organized shows that attracted massive crowds, filling venues like the Pontiac Silverdome with 60,000 young people. Furthermore, he played a pivotal role in the marketing and launch of a television show for his friend Kirk Cameron, as well as the release of “Passion of Christ,” where he joined the marketing team.

Driven by his passion for promoting adoption and helping less fortunate children in other countries, Byron assumed the role of president at Garden City Pictures. With Garden City, he collaborated with Colin Chilvers, an Oscar award-winning special effects supervisor and director, on the production of “Home Beyond the Sun.” This thought-provoking film delved into the plight of unwanted daughters in China’s overpopulated land, drawing inspiration from a true story of a child who found familial love despite being forsaken. Additionally, Byron played a pivotal role in the marketing and distribution of notable titles such as the award-winning documentary “Cross and Towers,” which chronicled the events of September 11, 2001, and “Sting,” a biographical film about Steve Border, a celebrity in the world of wrestling championships.

In 2007, Byron Jones became one of the Founding Managing Partners of Pure Flix Entertainment, alongside Randy Travis, David A.R. White, Michael Scott, and Russell Wolfe. Pure Flix gained recognition for producing and distributing impactful movies like “The Wager,” “Hidden Secrets,” and “Sarah’s Choice.” Notably, Byron played a crucial role in building the company’s extensive digital platform and catalogue during the early days of digital film releases. Recently, Pure Flix was acquired by Sony Pictures, further solidifying its influence in the industry.

In 2012, Byron and his production partner ventured into the Brazilian market, producing a film called “Destiny Road” that was shot on location and in studios in North Carolina. The film’s release in Brazil proved to be a tremendous success, with its box office performance surpassing that of “Skyfall 007” during their mutual opening weekend.

Throughout the years, Byron has primarily focused on distribution and marketing for various companies. Whether as a silent partner, board member, or consultant, he remains deeply invested in the film industry and continues to lend his expertise to support its growth and success.
